Tracy Lynn Conner

In loving memory of Tracy Lynn Conner, a cherished sister, aunt, wife, and friend, who peacefully passed away at her home in Sand Springs on July 18, 2024, following a stroke. Tracy was 61 years old. Tracy was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 26, 1962, to Lon Carter Conner and Wanda Louise (Higgins) Conner. She completed the Conner family alongside her sister, Gerri, and her brother, Donnie. A brother, Lon Carter Conner II, predeceased her in 1960. Tracy attended Whittier Elementary School, Cleveland Junior High School and Central High School, graduating from CHS in 1980. During high school she was active in the photography club and entertained fans at the football games as a member of the rifle and flag team. Some of her favorite memories growing up were family trips to Galveston to visit her grandfather in the Summer. That is where Tracy developed a lifelong love for the ocean's beauty and coastal cuisine. In her early adulthood, she even relocated to Bolivar on the Texas Gulf coast, where she immersed herself in coastal living. This love for the beach and ocean has also been passed down to her great niece and nephew, Adalyn and Kellen. Tracy embarked on a diverse career path, holding roles at Mid Continent Paper Company, Tulsa Federal Employee Credit Union, and Continental Federal. Her dedication and warm personality also led her to Public Service Company, where she not only managed office duties but also delighted children as Louie the Lightning Bug, promoting electricity safety. In 2014, Tracy retired as manager of AZ Country Store in Sand Springs, leaving behind a legacy of friendship and community. In her 40’s Tracy reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Roger Hurt, and they have been together ever since. Tracy looked at Roger’s children, Amanda, Amber and Chandler, as her children and she loved them deeply. Through Roger’s daughter, Amanda, she got to experience being a grandmother. Her infectious love for food and culinary adventures defined her as a true foodie. Tracy delighted in trying new recipes and exploring new restaurants, always sharing her discoveries with friends and family. Tracy also had a love for travel, which took her to many places, from New Orleans to Cozumel, but one of her favorite trips was to Disneyland with her mother, grandmother, aunt and brother when she was around 13 years old. Despite health challenges in her later years, Tracy's resilience and zest for life never waned. She continued to travel and enjoy cherished moments with loved ones. The last trip Tracy was able to take was with Roger to the Texas coast to revisit Bolivar and Rockport, her old stomping grounds. Tracy was surrounded by a loving family that brought her immense joy, including her sister Gerri, brother Don, niece Lauren and her husband Josh, nephew David, her great nephew and niece, Kellen and Adalyn, and Roger and his children. She also held dear friendships with Lori and Gary, Mary, Anita, Roger B, Paul, Diana, Marilee, AZ, and numerous others who enriched her life with laughter and support. Throughout her life, Tracy held a special bond with her grandmother, Pearl, and her mother, Wanda, who passed away in 1991 and 2015, respectively. Tracy's reunion with them brings comfort to those who loved her dearly. Tracy's passing leaves a void in the lives of her family and friends, who remember her for her radiant smile and boundless compassion. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will forever be cherished by all who knew her, and though we deeply mourn our loss, we take comfort in knowing she is finally free from pain and suffering, soaring among the angels.
