Jimmy Ray Boles Sr

Jimmy Ray Boles Sr. transitioned from his earthly home to his eternal home in heaven on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Jimmy “Jim” is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandy Boles, sons Jimmy Ray Jr and wife Regina, daughter Gina Pendergraft and husband Parks, daughter Kim Ray and husband Gordon, son David Boles, brother Bill Boles, 11 grandkids, 11 great grandkids and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his grandson Taylor Ray, his parents William Henry and Lena Corn Boles, sisters Juanita Sheperd and Alberta Weston and brothers Howard and Travis Boles. Jim was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He lived in Arkansas during his elementary years and then moved to Tulsa in the 7th grade. Jim attended Hamilton Jr. High and Will Rogers High School where he graduated in 1964. Jim worked at CRC Pipeline Equipment for over 40 years where he retired in 2012. Jim fell in love with his sweetheart, Sandy, during his 9thh grade year. Jim and Sandy married in August of 1965 and had four children. They made their home in Verdigris, where Jim became a member of the Verdigris Fire Department in 1978 as an Assistant Chief. Jim took his role as assistant chief to heart and was voted firefighter of the year in 1982. Jim’s passion for firefighting was passed on to both of his sons and his grandson. If Jim wasn’t at a sporting event with one of his kids, you could find him at the bowling alley, on the golf course or cleaning and polishing his Corvette. Everyone who knew Jim, knew his cars were his pride and joy, especially his Corvette. Jim made the most important decision of his life in 2012 when he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. This decision gives family and friends the assurance that Jim is with his heavenly father fishing in the sparkling streams of heaven with his grandson Taylor. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 3 at 11:00am at First Methodist Church in Claremore. Lunch will be provided for all family and friends after the celebration. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Jim’s honor to The Light of Hope in Claremore or to Clarehouse Hospice in Tulsa.
