Harry LeRoy McElfresh Jr., husband, father, brother, cousin, and uncle; left this earthly life on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Leroy was born February 4, 1970 in Plant City, Florida to Harry LeRoy "Beasley" McElfresh Sr. and Sallie Anne Fletcher. Leroy attended Jasper County Comprehensive High School and received his diploma in 1988. After graduation, he traveled to Oklahoma and lived briefly with his oldest sister, Montie. Shortly, thereafter, he met and married Sherry Gates and they had a son, Chad. Leroy went to work for Lone Star Transportation Company and relocated to the Oklahoma City area. Later, Leroy married Betsy Bryson and they had a daughter, Katey and made their home in Meeker, Oklahoma. Leroy always had a passion for buying and selling automobiles. The family relocated to Tulsa and opened a car lot on Betsy's childhood home property. Leroy was an avid calf roper and team roper and was pretty salty doing rope tricks. We would often have dummy ropings to see who would have to feed the horses and to no one's surprise, he never had to feed! He enjoyed riding a good (and pretty) horse and his favorite horses were a chestnut named Cowboy, a bay named RC, a sorrel named Scooby, and a big yellow gelding named Boss. Leroy also had two up and coming horses that he was so excited about; a dun called Levi and a paint horse called Son. Leroy had a black Western Hauler dually that he loved and could be found under the hood whenever he had a free moment. Leroy could operate and "fix" any piece of equipment and was proud of his work at Earthsmart Construction where he was the Superintendent of Production and Shop Operations and good friends with the owner, Rex Gibson and his family. Leroy was preceded in death by both his parents, sister-in-law Jeannie Bryson, and father-in-law Dale Bryson. He is survived by his wife, Betsy and daughter Katey of Tulsa; son Chad McElfresh of Claremore, mother-in-law Beth Bryson. Siblings: sister, Montie and husband David Ledford of Talala. David's Mother, Coeta Ledford. Their children; Sons, Michael Mills and wife Anna, Hadley, London, Hesston of Owasso, Mitchell Mills and his partner, Jacob Jizrawi of San Francisco, Matthew Ledford and wife Kelsey of Dallas. Daughters, Katie Parrish and husband Nathan, Abbey of South Carolina, Caroline Ledford and Matt Simmons, Grayson Simmons of Houston, Texas. Sister, Annie and husband Rasy Forrest of Lipan, Texas. Daughters, Ashley Karner and husband Chad, Gage, Kobe of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Raylynn Barrett and husband Rick, Remington of Wann, Sidney Lee Forrest of Lipan, Texas. Sister, Patty Fanning and wife Tonya of Talala. Uncle, Daniel Fletcher of Lakeland, Florida. Aunt, Pansy Cowder of Plant City, Florida.
