Connie Jane Self Connie Jane Self, 64, of Owasso, Oklahoma, passed away January 2, 2016. Connie was born on April 7, 1951 in Wichita, Kansas to Richard and Mary Jane Reynolds. Connie grew up in several places, including Kansas, California, Texas and Oklahoma. Finally settling in Skiatook, Oklahoma where she graduated high school. After high school, Connie married Charles H. “Chuck” Self, and they moved to Germany where Chuck served in the US Army for 3 years. Once back on American soil, Chuck completed his Army commitment at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, TX, and Ft. Lewis in Tacoma, Washington. While in Washington, Connie obtained her LPN degree. After finishing his Army commitment, Chuck and Connie moved back to Tulsa where Connie completed her RN degree at Tulsa Junior College. Throughout the years, Connie served in many nursing capacities, from bedside to management roles in Oklahoma, Texas and Arizona. Her hobbies included cooking, embroidery and the card ministry at her church. Connie was a loving and dedicated pastor’s wife, mother, Grandmother, daughter and friend. She loved nothing better than spending time with family and friends. Connie is preceded in death by her parents, R.J. and Mary Jane Reynolds; Maternal and Paternal grandparents; her brothers, Dale and Fred Reynolds; Mother-in-Law, Nola Self; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Self, Jr. of Owasso; Daughter Emily Moore and husband Daniel of Owasso; Daughter Carrie George and husband Ronnie of Sand Springs; Daughter Christy Butler and husband Tim of Kaufman, TX; Son Eric Reynolds and wife Melanie of Kaufman, TX. Grandchildren: Shelbi, Griffin & Graham Biddle; Hannah & Ryan George; Mattie (Butler) Garlitz and husband Seth; Mollie Butler; Dylan, Cordell & Blake Reynolds. Great-Grandchild, Ellie Kate Garlitz. Great Aunt, Maxine Jordan; as well as numerous cousins and friends Services for Connie will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10:00am at First Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations in Connie’s name be made to Clarehouse, 7617 S. Mingo Rd., Tulsa, OK 74133.
