Charles Ziriax

Charles (“Charley”) Alan Ziriax, 78, beloved husband, son, brother, father and grandfather, passed away December 31, 2024, in New Orleans while on vacation with family. Charley was born August 2, 1946, in Colville, Washington, to Irvin and Marian Louise (Romig) Ziriax. In 1950, the family moved to Tulsa. Charley graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1964. During high school, he worked as produce manager at Sam’s Grocery Store in Tulsa, his all time favorite job. Charley graduated from OSU Institute of Technology with an HVAC degree in 1967. He worked at Webster Engineering, John Zink, in his own HVAC business, and at Claremore Regional Hospital from 1978 until his retirement in 2008. Charley was married to Evelyn Montgomery from 1968 to 1980. They had 2 children, Paul and Angela. Charley married Pam Andrews at St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Claremore in 1998. They lived in Claremore until 2020, when they moved to Traverse City, Michigan, where he lived until his death. Charley was a kind, gentle and caring man of integrity. He taught his children the value of hard work and instilled in them his strong work ethic. He was a humble man with a huge heart who was always willing to help others in any way he could. He cherished time spent with family, especially the fun times he spent with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and his passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of many. Charley was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife Pam; children and step-children Paul (Lisa) Ziriax of Edmond; Angi (Tom) Simpson of Dallas; Alison (Rick) Sheets of Fort Wayne; Tracy (Mike Grant) Andrews of Traverse City; grandchildren Allie Ziriax, Erin and John Sheets, Franklin and Jane Grant Andrews; brother Jim Ziriax of Tulsa; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on January 18 at St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Claremore. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family visitation will precede the funeral from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Claremore.
