Betty Louise Moore January 27, 1933 – July 2, 2025 Age 92 With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Betty Louise Moore, who peacefully left this world at home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 2, 2025, at the age of 92. She was surrounded by her loving family and the pets she cherished so dearly — a comforting reflection of the life she built with compassion, resilience, and grace. Born on January 27, 1933, in Cleveland, Oklahoma, Betty was the youngest of seven children in a loving, close-knit family. She grew up grounded in faith, hard work, and deep family values that remained at the heart of everything she did throughout her life. A proud 1951 graduate of Cleveland High School, Betty began her professional life shortly after graduation, working as personal secretary to Laura E. Dester at the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in Oklahoma City. Ms. Dester, widely known as the “Mother of Oklahoma Child Welfare,” was a pioneering advocate for children, and Betty was honored to support her important work. Her career continued to flourish as she moved to Tulsa and worked for several major corporations, including Columbia Chemicals, Citgo, Cities Service Company, and Occidental Petroleum, from which she took her first retirement. Never one to slow down, Betty went on to work for Bank of Oklahoma (BOK), where she served diligently for approximately 15 years before retiring a second time. Still full of energy and purpose, Betty took a part-time position at the Tulsa Transit Call Center, where she enjoyed engaging with the community and helping others — a fitting continuation of her lifelong commitment to service. She officially retired at the remarkable age of 87, a true testament to her work ethic, strength, and spirit. While working full time, Betty also pursued higher education, earning her business degree from Tulsa University by attending classes during lunch breaks, evenings, and weekends. Her determination and perseverance in balancing work, study, and family remain one of her most inspiring legacies. Betty was the beloved wife of the late Robert Richard Moore, with whom she shared 32 years of marriage built on love, partnership, and mutual respect. She was a devoted mother to Michael Wayne Moore and his wife, Mamie (Mary D) Moore, and a proud grandmother to Emma Moore, who was the light of her life. Her loving spirit extended to many others, including her honorary grandchildren: Joel, Hannah, Elizabeth, Andrew, Abigail, Destiny, Victoria, Caleb, Everee, Isabella, Charlotte, and Lynnlee, all of whom she deeply loved and cherished as her own. Betty’s life was one of grace, quiet strength, and unshakable devotion. Her home was a haven of warmth and welcome. She was a source of steady encouragement, gentle humor, and endless love. Whether offering a warm meal, a wise word, or a comforting presence, Betty made every person feel valued. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, compassion, and perseverance. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 18, 2025, at Catoosa First Church, 300 S. Cherokee St., Catoosa, OK 74015. Cremation services are provided by Serenity Funeral Home, Tulsa, Oklahoma. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever in our hearts.
