Barbara Sue Davis

Barbara Sue Davis, 84, of Tulsa Oklahoma passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026. Barbara was born in Winfield, Kansas the youngest of three wonderful sisters. From the very beginning, she carried a gentle strength, a caring heart, and a quiet determination that would define the rest of her life. She was a loving mother to her son, John Kipper Jordan and later became a proud and devoted grandmother to Audrey Grace Jordan Nothing brought her more joy than being “Grandma.” She loved spending time with Audrey — taking her places, teaching her about gardening, playing dress-up, playing with makeup and hair, and cooking with her. Those simple, loving moments meant everything to her. She was very close with her sisters. She also played a big role in the lives of her nieces and nephew and enjoyed spending time with their children. After college, Barbara moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she built a life centered around family, hard work, and service to others. She dedicated 36 years to the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. She truly loved her work and the people she worked with. Her commitment, kindness, and steady presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her there. But perhaps her greatest legacy was her heart for helping others. After retiring, she devoted her time to serving people in need. She helped underprivileged children learn how to read, giving them confidence and hope. She volunteered with Meals on wheels making sure others were cared for and not forgotten. She gave quietly, generously, and without ever asking for recognition. She also found great peace and joy in her garden and in her church, where her faith guided her life and her actions. Mom believed in kindness, in service, and in loving people well — and she lived that belief every single day. If there is one thing we will always remember, it is her gentle spirit, her warm heart, and the way she made people feel loved, safe, and cared for. She showed us what it means to live a good life — not through grand gestures, but through everyday love, patience, and compassion. She is survived by her son John Kipper Jordan; and her granddaughter Audrey Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernice and Mark Thompson and her sisters, Patricia Rigor and Phyllis Parmenter. A funeral service will take place on Monday February 16, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Christ Church on Harvard, Tulsa with burial to follow at Rose Valley Cemetery, Winfield, Kansas
