William Edward Toner II passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. He was born July 26, 1952 to William E. Toner and Orveta Raye Littleton Toner of Caney, Kansas at Washington County Memorial Hospital in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. As a youth, he accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized on an Easter Sunday. He was active as an Eagle Scout and obtained The God and County Merit Badges. He graduated in 1970 from Caney High School, where he was third in his class, President of the National Honor Society and letterman in golf and cross country. He attended Kansas University and co-owned The Red Baron in Lawrence for about one year. He frequently told this experience to many of his family and friends, for it was one of his favorites. He returned home to Caney in 1974, and was employed at Toner Ford, the local family business, until 1978. He had one daughter, Jennifer, in 1977 and two sons, William E. Toner III "Trey" in 1985, and Lance Toner in 1988. On July 15, 2000 he married Diane Schille at Tyro Christian Church. He was employed at Coffeyville Refinery from 1978 until he retired in 2008. He was a member of First Christian Church in Afton, Oklahoma and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 123. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and target shooting, and was an avid fan of Kansas Jayhawks basketball. He is survived by his spouse of the home, Diane; his daughter, Jennifer Satterlee (spouse Mark Satterlee) of Winfield, Kansas; two sons, Will Toner III and Lance Toner, both of Coffeyville, Kansas; his step-son Michael Eck (spouse Jennifer Eck) of Elk Point, South Dakota; his brother, Fred Toner (partner Don Adleta) of Athens, Ohio; his sister Alecia Russell (spouse Jeff Russell) of Conroe, Texas; and 5 grandchildren Lincoln Swafford, Liam Swafford, AnnaLi Toner, Isabella Eck and Caleb Eck. Cremation took place. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please leave fond memories on this site or other social media.
