Sonya Denise Carter

Sonya Denise Carter was born in Locust Grove Oklahoma on January 5, 1951 to Gladys Mae Carter. She was the only child. She received her education on Tulsa Public Schools. While living in Wagoner she joined C.O.G.I under the leadership of Elder Preston. After moving to Tulsa she went to various churches under the leadership of the late Mother Grace Tucker. From there she joined R.L.O.W.C under the leadership of Pastor Larry and Lashawn Stokes. Those she leaves behind to mourn her home going are two daughters, Mia Demory of Tulsa and Calvia Demory of Tahlequah; three grandchildren: Da'Quon, Destiny, Layedonna Demory,; foster mother Essie Walker; 7 foster brothers and sisters of Wagoner; a host of nieces, nephews and sister in The Lord Ms. Lee. Preceding her in death were both her parents, grandmother Alberta and auntie Effie Mae Grayson. The family has scheduled a memorial service for 2:45 pm Tuesday September 22, 2020 at Harvest Time Community Outreach, 2333 E. 48th Street North, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74130.
