Robert Gray Robertson, Jr Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert Gray Robertson passed away on April 25, 2021 in Jenks, OK at age 76. He was born on December 12, 1944 in Newport News, VA to Robert Gray Robertson and Thelma Elizabeth Rogers. Robert graduated from Virginia Tech University. He married Elva Ramirez in 1970 in Wichita Falls, TX and they had two children. He was later married to Cindy Brown for several years. Robert joined the US Air Force in August 1965. He achieved the rank of Staff Sargent and served as a telecommunications system equipment maintenance supervisor for 20 years. He served in various locations overseas and in Vietnam. Robert received many decorations which include the Good Conduct Medal, Outstanding Unit Award, Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Longevity Service Award Ribbon, NCO PME Grad Ribbon, and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. He retired from the military in August 1985. He lived in Montana for about 30 years and worked for Sinclair Oil Corporation for 16 years as a convenience store manager. In March 2010, Robert moved to Austin, TX for 10 years and lived with his stepson BJ Brown. In July 2019 he moved to Jenks, OK and lived with his daughter and her husband. Robert loved motorcycles and enjoyed riding in the mountains of Montana. He had many cars and liked working on them. Robert enjoyed watching sci-fi movies and playing pc computer games. He liked doing jigsaw puzzles and word searches. He definitely had a great love for food and frequently enjoyed dining out. An avid football fan, he could often be found watching OU or the Dallas Cowboys. Robert is survived by his brother Stuart Robertson and his wife Annie, and their children and their spouses, Julie and Susan Robertson, and Megan and Stephen Renfroe; his son Robert Robertson and his wife Rebecca and grandchildren Nicholas and Eric; his daughter Cathy Mayo and her husband Carl and grandchildren Steven (Christian), Casey and Curtis. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jeanette. A private service will be held on Friday, May 21st, 2021 at 11am at Jenks First United Methodist Church to honor his memory and life.
