The Life and Times of Majel Jo Shepherd Our cherished Majel Jo Shepherd (Omi) went to be with our Lord Monday, June 21, 2021. Omi was so many things to so many different people, but the impact on the lives she touched is immeasurable. Majel was born to Dewey H. Price (Big Dugi) and Nattie Jo Price (Big Joey) on July 22, 1939 in Bristow, OK. She graduated Bristow High School in 1957. She married Lewis Dee Waid in 1958. Majel started her professional career in the early 60s working as a court reporter at Creek County Courthouse in Sapulpa, OK. She and her family eventually settled in Skiatook in 1970, where she and her husband managed Dee Waid Ford of Skiatook. She finished her career working in Finance at various automobile dealerships, retiring from Mike Quinn Dodge. She married Dennis Lee Shepherd on May 5, 1987, and they lived in Skiatook, OK. She was preceded in death by her first husband Lewis Dee Waid, her mother Nattie Price, father Dewey Price, brother Jerry Price, sister Don Catherine Head (husband Neal Head), and son Ted Shepherd (wife Christy Shepherd). She is survived by her husband Dennis Shepherd; four children, Dewey Dee Waid, Joey Jean Stubbings (husband David Stubbings), Kamala Kay Moon (husband David Moon), and Reggie Shepherd; grandchildren Brooke Ketchum (husband Chris Ketchum), Magan McCutchen, Michael Mangold, Paden Stubbings, David Allen Stubbings (wife Hillary Stubbings), Adrianne Moon, Evan Shepherd, Cannon Shepherd, Rex Shepherd, and Jack Shepherd; great grandchildren include Avery Ketchum, Chance Gruenwald, Reece McCutchen, Ragan McCutchen, Krew Ketchum, Bankston Ketchum, Emerson Ator, Lillie Stubbings, and Scarlett Stubbings. In retirement, Majel volunteered at the local Skiatook Meals on Wheels and Skiatook/Sperry elementary schools to be with her great grandchildren during their early years. A "Celebrate Me Home" event is scheduled for October 23, 2021 (12:00pm-4:00pm) at The Lodge at Bridle Creek (5811 Roper Rd Sperry, OK 74073). In lieu of gifts or flowers, people are encouraged to support their local Meals on Wheels in Majel's memory.
