Larry Dean Dykshoorn was born in Sheldon, Iowa, on February 8, 1957, to Howard Elmer and Elizabeth Ann Dykshoorn. As a child, he lived in Sheldon, Clear Lake and Sioux City, Iowa, where he attended schools. When he was six years old, he was hit by a car while crossing a busy highway and suffered a traumatic compressed skull fracture, which caused him to have epilepsy and a mild hearing loss the rest of his life. He received a GED in 1976. In the late 1970s, he moved to Tulsa. He worked for Hydro Conduit, Case and Associates, and Cherokee Builders. He married Anne (Ingraham) Muzzy in 1988. They divorced in 2013. He suddenly passed away November 23, 2021 at his home in Tulsa. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, Carl Cecil and Mary Elizabeth Adler, his paternal grandparents, Abraham and Alice Dykshoorn, an aunt and two uncles and a nephew, Justin Carlson. He is survived by his 3 children Shana Dykshoorn of Tulsa, OK, Kelsey Longacre (Michael) of Jennings, OK, Colin Dykshoorn (Heather) of Tulsa, OK and a step-son Francis Kenyon Muzzy of Tulsa, OK. Also 4 grandchildren: Jason, Ryder, Chloe, and Max. He is survived by his siblings: Elaine Allen (Chris), Bob Dykshoorn (Jeanette), Diane Casto (Ray) Jim Dykshoorn, Susan Dykshoorn (Nancy), Linda Steele. And several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, Donald and Jan Dykshoorn of Sheldon, Iowa.
