Johnny James Mahan "J.J.", age 45, passed this life on October 6, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on February 18, 1975 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to his parents John Lee Mahan and Sheila Jean (Carter) Russell. J.J. enjoyed many careers in his life including being a contract laborer, CV machinist, and a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed so many things in this life, but had a special hobby of recycling. J.J. was known for being a loving brother, son and father. He was a light in many lives and will be greatly missed. Johnny James Mahan is preceded in death by his parents John Lee Mahan and Sheila Jean (Carter) Russell. He is survived by his children Destiny Jones, Kamrin Mahan, Xander Mahan, Elysse Knapp, and Kileyauna Godwin; siblings Cindy Campbell, husband David Anderson, and Tracy McBride, husband Joe McBride; step-father Don Cooper; step-brother Tony Cooper, wife Bobbie Cooper; nieces and nephews Ashley Mahan, Nathan Lawrence, wife Sandra, Jazmyne Green, Trevor McBride, Gracie Cooper, and Kirk McKinney; along with many other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. In J.J's honor, be generous this holiday, do a good deed for a stranger, mend a broken relationship, and tell your family you love them. There will be a memorial service held to celebrate Johnny's life on December 18, 2020 at 11:00AM at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There will be small snacks and finger foods served in the reception hall following the memorial service.
