Jimmie Lavon Day Sutter 1932-2020 Our dearly loved wife, mother and grandmother, Jimmie Lavon Day Sutter passed to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the age of 88. Jimmie was born in Claremore, OK on March 2, 1932. She was the daughter of Ray and Johnnie Rhodes of Pryor, OK. Jimmie was predeceased by her first husband Verlin E. Day, her parents, Ray and Johnnie Rhodes and sisters, Clara Jean Littlefield and Peggy Schmidt. She is survived by her husband, JT Sutter and her older brother, Lowery Rhodes. Jimmie and Verlin had 4 children: Pamela Day Hoagland (husband Mark), Rod Day (wife Diana), Brad Day and Greg Day. She has 5 grandchildren: Caitlin Chudy (husband Adam), Ian Hoagland, Patrick Day (wife Hayley), Ryan Day and Madeline Day and 1 great grandchild Axler Day. Jimmie was also the step-mother of JT's children: Rod Sutter, Rick Sutter (wife Mary), Mike Sutter (wife Cheryl), Tracy Davidson (husband Jeff) and Brenda Cox. Jimmie married Verlin in 1954 and they were married 16 years until his untimely death. In 1972 she married Joe and they spent the next 47 years together. While Jimmie worked various jobs at medical offices, her main focus was taking care of their home and raising her children. After the kids left home and were living on their own, Jimmie and Joe enjoyed traveling to various places around the country for Joe's work. They have fond memories of days spent at lakeside RV parks where they enjoyed fishing and friendships with fellow travelers. She was very creative. Jimmie spent many hours crafting jewelry, making ceramics, sewing, and, her favorite, crocheting. She was very proud of her Native American heritage and took time to trace the family's lineage back several generations so her grandkids would know about their family history. She loved time she could spend with her grandkids - inviting them to stay overnight at their lake house. Of course, they have good memories of times spent with her riding on the boat, playing in the water and watching fireworks at the lake. While alzheimer's made her last years difficult, people around her still enjoyed her beautiful blue eyes and smile and often commented how sweet she was. We remember all the good times we spent with her and take comfort in knowing she is whole again and in the arms of her Heavenly Father.
