It is with extremely heavy hearts that we have to say goodbye for now and see you later in heaven to THE beautiful legend, Tracy Tankersley Hobbs. After a fifteen (15) year battle with Parkinson’s Disease, she passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by her family. She always declared that in her final days, she wanted to rest in and be carried out of her house. Children and grandchildren lined up with laced hands from the front door all the way to the street as her final wish was granted. Tracy Tankersley Hobbs was born and raised in Fort Smith, AR where she graduated from Northside High School on June 3rd, 1966. She opened her heart and home to not only her own children but children from every aspect of her life and her children’s life. She used her passion for cooking and sewing to feed and clothe said children. Many of those children have recently reminisced about how they walked through her door and raved about the amount of food they devoured at her ten (10) foot dining room table that was custom built by her dad. There are countless stories about the many outfits, dresses, costumes, banners and sporting attire she creatively crafted with her unbelievable sewing skills. To this day, you can find her talented work showcased at The University of Tulsa and Tulsa Performing Arts Center, just to name a few. She was predeceased by her parents Benton Tankersley and Vivian Tankersley and grandson Michael Cesternino. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael L. Hobbs; her children Mike Hobbs, Leah Cesternino (Robert), Kelly Starkey (Joe), Troy Taylor, Todd Taylor (Rhonda Pollard), Regina Grand (Richard) and Rebecca Hobbs (Shane Morgan); her grandchildren Chandler Fowler, Zachary Cesternino, Colin Cesternino (Megan), Kaitlin Sakata (Hiromiki), Elizabeth Cesternino, Luca Cesternino, Kristina Hobbs, Cheyenne Kendrick (Ezekiel), Dakota Pippin, Jacob Burkes (Sierra), Alexis Hobbs, Madison Davis (Isaac), Isabella Grand, Chloe Grand, Isaiah Contreras, Brodie Morgan; and her great grandchildren Ryuko Sakata, Kaytie Adams, Dominic Adams, Skyler Allen, Adalynn Pippen, Remington Kendrick, Hadleigh Burkes, Maddox Mowrey, Hazel Davis; her older sister Teryle Tankersley Loggains; nephews Travis Loggains, Benton Loggains and niece Adrian Loggains Family and friends will be invited to a Celebration of Life gathering to be announced at a later date.
