Preston Samuel Sayles

The Lasting Legacy Preston Sayles was born on June 28, 1976, to John William Sayles and Elector Fernell Elias in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He crossed over to the next life on June 25, 2018, at the age of 41. Preston is the first-born son of this union and was the apple of his parents' eyes. Preston began and continued his life in Tulsa, where he attended Tulsa Public Schools. Preston was a very jovial and tender soul. He could be found lending a helping hand to those in need. He loved visiting nursing homes as a child and would bring comfort and joy to others through prayer. Preston developed his relationship with his heavenly father as a child and continued this life-long relationship until his sunset from this life. Preston loved family and fellowship. He and Candace Williams welcomed a daughter in March 1995 and later married. Though love and connection may not last forever, he was able to find love again. Preston and his "Queen" Caroline, joined in matrimony on December 18, 2003. Preston and Caroline are two peas in a pod. They lived out the words "In sickness and in health". Preston was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a teen and shared his journey with not only his family but others in the community. Preston had experienced highs and lows with this disease but maintained his humor and family connections. Preston's gift was his ability to connect with others. He was able to provide words of wisdom with many though his employment. He earned his GED and became a Certified Nurse Aide. He was afforded opportunities to work with young and seasoned individuals through his employment in various nursing homes, 12&12, Radar, and Hillcrest Hospital. Preston is survived by his wife, Caroline Sayles; daughter, N�Cole Sayles; sons, Christopher Alexander, Jeremy Serna, Christopher Serna, Nicholas Serna, and Daniel Serna, Godson, Gary Ballard; mother, Elector Sayles; brother, John Sayles; sisters, Erikia Sayles and EuWanda Sayles-Hutch; ten grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preston was preceded in death by his father, John W. Sayles; both maternal and paternal grandparents; and both maternal and paternal uncles and aunts. Though he has reached his sunset he will never be forgotten!
