Michael Brent

Michael was the first born child to the union of Earl Lee Brent and Carrye M. Gladney of Tulsa, OK. They quickly built a family of four boys, Michael, Marcus, Maurice and Marlon all of Tulsa. To this union was gained one sister and two brothers, Earline Brent, Kelvin Brent and Christopher Brent. Carrye Gladney Brent soon moved on and took her four sons to be raised up in Turley. Michael grew up there and attended Horace Greeley Elementary, Gilcrease Junior High School and McLain High School. He was one of the funniest people you could ever meet. Michael had a way of making you laugh to a point that you felt like you were about to pass out. He was born with a heavy voice and we would always tease him and say, “he looked and talked like a grown man from birth.” Michael was an adventurous kid growing up in Turley. He liked to build bikes and go on long biking expeditions while testing them to see if they could make long brutal road trips. Michael loved the outdoors and he loved growing up in Turley and exploring the area. He was also a good athlete and participated in Football, Basketball and Baseball and really excelled in Baseball through his High School years. He would graduate from Mclain High School in 1984 and headed on to Okmulgee, OK where he would attend Okmulgee Tech and meet his future wife Marie Lewis and complete his education there in 1986 with an Applied Science Degree. Michael and Marie were married and moved to Dallas, TX where he would find work with Dart Transportation and from this union Michael Dewayne Brent was born and Jasmine Brent. Michael Dewayne preceded his parents in death. Michael gave his life to Christ early on, while serving as a member of First Baptist Mohawk Church here in Tulsa. He would later become a member of Vision Outreach Center of Tulsa. He loved his Church Family and he loved God. Michael was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Father Earl Lee Brent, Mother Carrye M. Brent Anderson, his son Michael Dewayne Brent his brothers Christopher Brent, Marlon Brent and sister Earline Brent and all of his Aunts and Uncles. Michael leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Jasmine Brent, two brothers and a sister-n-law, Pastor Marcus Brent, Sr/Rachel Brent and Maurice Brent, Nieces, Nephews all of Tulsa, Cousins all over the country and many many friends. He will be truly missed.
