Leo Thomas Compton was born on March 25th, 1934 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. It was clear even from his younger years, when he rode motorcycles and dune buggies, that Leo loved life and loved adventure. That love took him many places. From his early days of farming in Watonga and the time he spent in Germany, to when he moved to LA and began his career with Southwestern Bell. When his life brought him back to Oklahoma, he added to these adventures by raising 7 children, rebuilding Volkswagens, and caring for horses, cows, and chickens. When he found himself living on the shores of Grand Lake, he became quite the fisherman. Countless times he buried a barrel in mud and would noodle a 60 lb catfish with his bare hands. Most of us here have stood around a fish fryer with him as he told stories, laughed, and fried delicious fish. On July 10th of 1982, Leo made one of the most important decisions he would ever make when he dedicated his life to Jehovah. Afterwards he went on to serve as an elder and because of his love for Jehovah and zeal to help others come to know him, Leo took early retirement from Southwestern Bell to become a full-time minister. He continued to serve Jehovah faithfully for the rest of his life. Leo Compton passed away on 11-9-2019 surrounded by his family and friends and Donna Compton, his wife of 25 years. Leo was preceeded in death by His parents Carl and Josie Compton A Brother Dearrell (Shorty) Compton A Sister Reba Pierce A Grandson Taylor Monroe Leo is survived by 2 siblings Monte Compton and his wife Elaine Of Watonga, Ok Annette Morris of Moore, OK His Children Marty Compton and his wife Cindy of Bernice, Ok Rusty Compton of Grove, Ok Kim Rinae Hudgens and her husband Terry of Grove, Ok Kimberly Ann Fisher and her husband Greg of Hot Springs, AR Pamela Tomlinson and her husband Ashley of Grove, Ok Michael Horrell and his wife Jo Ann of Welch, Ok Marcus Compton and his wife Amy of Wolfe City, Tx Jerra Myhre and her husband Tim of Tulsa, Ok Jason Devin of Tulsa, Ok Two adopted daughters Katie Hannah Ali Bozone 16 Grandchildren 18 1/2 Great-Grandchildren Memorial Service will be Saturday November 16 at 10AM at Rosedale Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses 701 W. 51st St Sand Springs, Ok 74063 Flowers can be delivered there on Saturday morning after 8:30 AM
