Kenneth Tillis

Kenneth Tillis, beloved father, proud veteran of the United States Navy and loyal native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He was 71 years young and is dearly missed by his entire family, friends, and loved ones. Kenneth thoroughly enjoyed growing up in Tulsa, OK, among his siblings and later creating a family of his own. Ever since a young child, he’s always had a passion for laughter-playing practical jokes on his family and friends and for being serious-gaining knowledge through reading books, writing articles, and creating poetry. Although a well-traveled man, he remained in Tulsa for the majority of his life. While in the Navy, he served as an Ordnance Mechanic. Afterwards, as a jack of many trades, he’s held several jobs, including working as a U.S. postal worker. The one career he thoroughly enjoyed was as a Chef for the infamous Camelot Hotel. He’s met many of its famous guests and was able to serve them the most delicious meals. His love for praying, dancing, singing, writing, and speaking were shown in different aspects throughout his life. His quick wit, humor, and love and adoration for his family, dominoes, a wide genre of music-mainly old school songs, cards, the Wheel of Fortune, board games, kung fu movies, and dressing to impress will not ever be forgotten. He was the son of (Joyce) Betty Jean Butler, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his partner Deborah, 7 loving children: Juan, Kashawna, Kenneth, Mario, Marco, Marcell, and Ta’Ona, 4 beloved children: Ebony, Michael, Felecia, and Edward, 8 siblings: Loretta, Orville, Yvonne, Michelle, Loren, Jerome, Nathaniel, Darryl; and a host of aunts, uncles, grand-children, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends to celebrate and cherish him. He will always hold a special place in our memories and forever remain in our hearts. Kenneth’s loving family, loyal friends, caring veterans and medical staff, attended the Veteran’s Honor Walk held in his honor on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 1:00pm, Muskogee, OK.
