Clayton Eugene Mason

Clayton Mason, a revered son, brother, father, and grandfather, was born on the chilly winter day of February 22, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, toloving parents Bobbie Jean Madlock and Sylvester Mason Sr. The fourth child in a bustling family, he brought laughter, kindness, and a touch of mischief into their lives. A proud graduate of McClain High School in 1978, Clayton learned the value of hard work and determination, later channeling those qualities into his profession. He was a dedicated worker, expertly honing his skills as a pipefitter and grinder, and was admired by colleagues for his diligence and commitment. In the sacred halls of New Heights Christian Center, Clayton found solace and comfort. Embracing his faith in 1988, he dedicated his life to the Lord. Clayton was a man of many passions. He relished in the rhythms of dance, often winning multiple contests around Tulsa, his laughter and energy infectious to all who watched. He was a fierce domino player, always ready for a friendly competition in his garage with friends, his playful trash-talking a hallmark of his personality. But it was his family that he cherished most of all. He was absolutely devoted to his children and grandchildren, creating a warm and joyful environment where their laughter was the sweetest music. Clayton often played the role of a jovial teacher, imparting life lessons to his loved ones, and always ready for a good-natured joke. In his earlier years, Clayton was an unyielding force in the gym. As a dedicated bodybuilder, he became a personal jungle gym for his nieces and nephews, sparking joy and laughter with his antics. He won several body building contests and enjoyed spending time in the gym. Clayton was fortunate to find love not once, but twice in his life. His first marriage to Cashandra Thompson blessed him with his son, Deravio Mason. He then welcomed three more children - Clayton, Ashantia, and Lecreshia Jenkins. Finding love again, he married Susan Thompson on December 22, 1988. Their union brought four beautiful children into his life - Marika Mason-Lister, Ashley Mason, Tylyshia Mason-Seppard, and DeVaute' Mason. Clayton's legacy continues to live on through his beloved children, his treasured grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. On June 18, 2023 Clayton gained his wings to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Preceded in death is his grandmothers Ora Bailey-Welch and Beatrice Mason grandfathers Wyatt MoseMason Sr. His sister Barbara Divens, Regina Mason and BridgetteMadlock. His Brother Herbert Bowen Sr. He lives to cherish his beautiful memories his parents, Sylvester Mason Sr. and Bobbie Jean Madlock; His siblings Amos Mason, Sylvester Mason Jr., Debra Webb, Dwayne Mason Sr, Terry Mason, Melisha Mason, RongeyMadlock, Tony Madlock, ShondaMadlock. And Martha Peevy. He is remembered not just for his love and kindness, but also for the wisdom and joy he shared with each of them. Clayton's life was a testament to family, faith, and enduring love, an extraordinary man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Memorial Service will be 1:00pm Thursday June 29, 2023 at Serenity Funerals and Cremation Chepel.
